Broad Fit vs Regular Fit - which will suit my horse better?

The original heavy horsewear brand and global best-seller, Epic®, now includes a regular horse rug range for light – medium weight horses and ponies. Epic® Horsewear is now available in a regular fit or broad fit, catering for light, medium and heavy weight horses and ponies.

Here is how to choose which Epic® fit is for you.

BROAD FIT

Our original fit, Epic® Broad Fit horse rugs are for heavy weight horses and ponies. Designed with much more room in the chest and shoulders, eliminating the feeling of being restricted; allowing for comfortable grazing with full freedom of movement. No more mini-skirts with a deeper body and ample room for the lovely apple bottom. Epic® horse hoods are designed for a thick muscular neck typically found in the Natives breeds, Cobs, Iberian Horses, Hunters, Maxi-Cobs and Draft Breeds.

Our broad fit models: Annie, an 18hh Clydesdale; she wears a 7’3 turnout rug and an XL hood. George, a 17hh heavy weight Registered Irish Draught; he wears a 6’9 turnout rug and a hunter hood.

REGULAR FIT

The brand-new Epic® Regular Fit horse rugs are for light – medium weight horses and ponies with a regular sized neck and chest. Like our broad fit horse rugs, this range features our Epic® depth, Epic® sized shoulder gusset and tail flap to give complete coverage and allow for comfortable grazing with full freedom of movement.

Our regular fit models: Max, a 16hh light weight warmblood; he wears a 6’3 turnout rug and a L hood. Foxy, a 16hh medium weight Registered Irish Draught; she wears 6’6 stable rug and a L hood.
