Heavy Horse Rugs: Broad Fit vs Regular Fit
The original heavy horsewear brand, Epic Equestrian, is designed specifically for the heavier breeds to accommodate their broader chest, shoulders, and apple bottom.
BROAD FIT
Our original size chart, Epic Broad Fit heavy horse rugs are designed specifically for heavy weight horses and ponies in sizes 5’9 – 7’6.
-
Cut bigger in the neckline to accommodate the broader chest, neck, and shoulders.
-
Extra-large shoulder gussets for full freedom of movement.
-
Extra rug depth ensuring NO MORE MINI-SKIRTS.
-
Extra-large tail flap for complete coverage.
The Epic broad fit heavy horse rugs enable your horse to graze comfortably with full freedom of movement, eliminating the feeling of being restricted.
Our heavy horse neck covers are designed for thick muscular necks typically found in the Native Breeds, Cobs, Iberian Horses, Hunters, Maxi-Cobs, Shires, Clydesdales, Belgian Drafts, and other Draft Horse Breeds.

The regular fit horse rugs are also suitable for older heavy weight breeds that have decreased in size due to muscle loss, that still need all the features of the heavy horse broad fit rugs but aren’t broad enough for the neckline anymore.
The regular fit horse rugs feature:

Regular sized neckline for light – medium weight horses and ponies.

Extra-large shoulder gussets for full freedom of movement.

Please, please bring back your 5’6" rugs. I have a Fell pony and finding rugs with enough room around her shoulders is incredibly hard. I have a turnout rug I bought in your sale years ago which fits her beautifully but a 5’9" rug would be too long. The Epic rugs are the best quality rugs I have come across in years.
