The broad fit is designed specifically for horses with broader chests, bigger shoulders and thick muscular necks, with a larger neckline, lower chest fastenings and extra large shoulder gussets so the rug sits correctly without rubbing the shoulders, pulling tight at the chest or digging in at the neck.
