Innovative zebra stripes inspired by the research of Susanne Åkesson and Tim Caro naturally deter flies, midges and biting insects from landing on your horse. With a fixed integrated neck cover and adjustable low cross surcingles, this fly rug provides an exceptional head-to-tail shield to reduce summer stress.
Unlike off-the-shelf sizing, every rug in our Broad Fit range is developed using measurements taken from real broader, heavier horses — so the fit is precise, not guesswork. Our fit-first design gives your horse complete freedom of movement, with a larger cut neckline to accommodate a broader chest, thick muscular neck and big shoulders. Lower chest fastenings that follow your horse's natural shape, eliminating pressure at the neck and over the wither. Extra large shoulder gussets give your horse unrestricted comfort without tightness or rubbing. The fixed integrated neck cover, designed specifically for muscular necks and long manes, features an extended length to match your horse's natural neck extension as they graze, preventing any gaps for biting insects to get in.
No more mini skirts! All of our rugs have the correct rug depth so your horse is fully covered and protected from the elements, including a substantial tail flap.
Pair with our Classic PVC Mask or Classic Nylon Fly Mask for complete head-to-tail coverage.

What a great rug, fitted Zorro really well despite him being as wide as a bus and deep as the sea. His previous fly rugs all strangled him, causing sores under his neck. They also looked like mini skirts offering little protection from flies but this one covered most of his belly so he's a very happy boy now
After buying 3 fly rugs that didn’t fit I tried the big horse shop and finally a fly rug that fits my chunky cob no rubbing on chest not tight anywhere and it says in one place so very happy
Great quality rug- durable material and strong straps and fastenings. The broad fit is great for my chunky mare- saves me having to go up a size just to get a fit.

Bought the broad fit 6ft zebra rug for my 14hh Highland. Lovely quality, fits very well with plenty of adjustment. The neck however was far too long and I would have preferred a removable neck or
no neck at all. I would absolutely buy a second rug if a removable neck was an option. Highly recommend if you like a fixed neck.
Normally my horse wont tolerate fly rugs but he rapidly worked out that this one actually keeps the flies away and so is very happy to wear it. It's gone down so well with him that I've bought a second as he resembles a hippo rather than a Zebra after a week. It is lightweight (7'3") but sturdy.

Super good fly rug! I bought the first one 5 years ago and it wasn't actually broken yet. Then I had a 7.6 for my draft horse mare. Because it fell a bit too far over her buttocks, I thought I would take a size smaller, a 7.3. Unfortunately, this blanket falls just as far over her buttocks. Unfortunately, she has a docked tail and it would therefore be better if it fell just above it because she cannot lift her tail during fattening. I took the blanket slightly at the back with a needle and thread. I'm not sure whether I will take a size smaller for the next blanket, but I'm afraid it will be too tight on her chest. What I think is a great change about this model is that the neck part has been made a lot longer so that her neck also remains covered when she is eating grass!!!
Have 2 1 x black and 1 x brown for an Irish Draft and a shire cross. Both fit well, the shire x tends to be a destroyer so only been worn a few weeks. He has already ripped his waterproof fly rug....The IrishDraft doesn't tend to damage rugs only herself, currently recovering from kneecapping herself.
Finally a well fitting fly rug and plenty of room around the neck. Good quality. Keeps those pesky flys off.
Poor Rusty was getting bitten through his normal fly rug by horse flys he looked like a dot to dot game,but not one bite since wearing his love it .He can rest without the nasty critters biting him 🥰

Really good quality fly rug and a great fit for my heavy cob, who is a big girl from front to back. This rug stays in place and doesn’t end up pulling across her chest like others have. More comfortable for her.
The order from the Big Horse Shop arrived promptly and I was pleased with the quality of the zebra fly sheet. The broad fit was also perfect for my Friesian horse . However sadly the hope that it would make a difference in terms of it improving protection from flies has not been the case. I found absolutely no difference and she is still getting bitten really badly. The only sheet I have found to be remotely effective is the sweet itch sheet which I also purchased from the Big Horse Shop but it is too warm for her on sunny days otherwise she would wear that all the time . So the zebra sheet hype unfortunately has not worked for my horse
A really high quality rug that doesn’t pull on my boy’s chest or wither. I did size up to a 6ft 9 broad The 6ft 6 broad didn’t give him quite enough room in the chest. The quality is excellent, nice and light yet sturdy. Im delighted that we have found him a fly rug he can be comfortable in.
This is a great fly rug for my fell x cob pony, The broad fit, fits him perfectly with no stress on his withers and covers his peachy bottom!
