How to Measure Your Horse for the Best Rug Fit

  1. Use a fabric tape measure or twine for precision.
  2. Start at the center of the chest, where the rug would fasten.
  3. Measure along the side of the body, following the curve of the shoulder, in a straight line to the furthest point of the hindquarters - not all the way to the tail. We recommend placing a broom behind your horse's hind and measuring to that point.
  4. For the most accurate results, measure in centimeters and take the measurement 2-3 times.

Choose the Best Fit for Your Horse

  • Broad Fit – Perfect for medium+, heavy horses / ponies, and draft breeds with deep barrels, broad chests, and muscular builds.
  • Regular Fit – Designed for light - medium weight horses and ponies with a regular sized chest and neck.

With our exclusive size charts and deep-cut designs, you’ll find a rug that truly fits.

We always recommend trying an item on before use, especially when trying a different style. This is in case you need to return it for a smaller size, you are able to do so. If your horse is in-between sizes, we recommend opting for the bigger size, however, with horse rugs that have a back seam, they sit more contoured to the horse's body which can sometimes give a more generous fit. Some customers have found they can sometimes go down 1 size in rugs with a back seam when their horse is in-between sizes.

With a fixed integrated neck cover and adjustable low cross surcingles, this fly rug provides an exceptional head-to-tail shield to reduce summer stress.

Unlike off-the-shelf sizing, every rug in our Regular Fit range is developed using measurements taken from real horses — so the fit is precise, not guesswork. Our fit-first design gives your horse complete freedom of movement, with a more generous cut neckline that follows your horse's natural shape and extra large shoulder gussets that give unrestricted comfort without tightness or rubbing. The fixed integrated neck cover, designed to match your horse's natural neck extension as they graze, prevents any gaps for biting insects to get in.

No more mini skirts! All of our rugs have the correct rug depth so your horse is fully covered and protected from the elements, including a substantial tail flap.

I order the big horse one but was too big for my IDx, the customer service was excellent and 3 days after the new rug arrived. The regular fit one is more generous on the shoulders for my girl and she is finally able to canter around the field and roll more comfortably. Thank you!!!
