This heavy horse turnout rug comes with 50g of filling for an extra lightweight covering for your heavy horse. As the temperatures start to drop, we always recommend opting for a heavy horse turnout rug with minimal filling like this. The slight filling acts as a gap between your heavy horse and the heavy horse turnout rug to help prevent the build up of condensation on the inside of the heavy horse turnout rug
Our Epic Classic heavy horse turnout rugs feature an advanced waterproof and breathability rating as well as an added Teflon™ treatment to repel dirt and water. Easily increase the warmth on this heavy horse turnout rug with the heavy horse rug liner attachments at the wither area on the inside of the heavy horse turnout rug and at the rear with an extra D ring by the leg straps.
This heavy horse turnout rug is designed specifically for big shouldered horses and heavier breeds to accommodate the broader chest, shoulders and apple-bottom. If you horse is a light - medium weight, try our Regular Fit horse turnout rug.

This item is true to size and we recommend opting for your horse's usual size.
If your current horse rug is a good fit in length from your horse's chest - hind, but you find the horse rug is tight at the chest area, try that same size in our horse rugs.
If you have sized up with your current horse rug to get more room in the chest and the overall length from chest-hind is too long, try the size down in our horse rugs.

Thrilled to bits with this rug & wish I'd bought one sooner. I have a chunky 14.3 and her bum has always been a bit chilly because the tail flap was so skimpy for her big quarters, her old rug would slip and her clipped belly would be on show making her cold too. Now she has a lovely deep rug that doesn't slip and the leg straps mean she doesn't have a filthy filet string that caused her pee to splash everywhere.
Great not to have the surcingles on their maximum length too.
She's toasty in a 50 g instead of needing a 250g to make up for the mini dress look...
Can't wait to get her a fly rug now and to swap my other horse into a Big Horse Shop wardrobe :)
My horse lives in Holland and is very big and tall, he is a Belgian (Vlaams Paard), so only Epic broad fit (7 6) is perfect for him. He has pssm1 so he is now so comfortable since he has rugs from The big horse shop!!
This is an amazingly well fitting rug. I've gotten several compliments on how well the rug fits the horse, and how much better it is than the last one which was sagging to one side and looking a bit like a mini skirt (to cover one, large, plump, grey, Irish draught). It has really decent coverage and fits well all way round, very deep. He pretty much lives in a lightweight at this time of year, and he is as dry as a bone underneath this rug even after all this rain. Great rug, very happy with this, as I am with all the rugs I have purchased from the Big Horse Shop.
For years I have searched for a proper rug to fit my chunky shire, often squeezing him in rugs that look like a mini skirt and on the last notch on the buckle or with a chest expander. Now he has a proper fitting rug and with plenty of room to spare for when he’s having his chunky days and when the weather turns bitter! Also love the fact that liners can be attached to this as well! Also absolutely love the colour. Would 10/10 recommend!!!
Die Decke passt einfach perfekt! Vorne ist sie wirklich breit genug und auch die Gehfalte sitzt da, wo sie hingehört. Es spannt nichts.
Und auch die Farbe gefällt mir sehr gut.
Ich kann sie wirklich absolut weiter empfehlen!
