Finding a turnout rug that genuinely fits a broader horse can be a challenge. The Epic Essential No Fill Turnout Rug in Red is designed specifically for horses with broader chests, bigger shoulders and thick muscular necks — cut with a larger neckline, lower chest fastenings and extra large shoulder gussets so the rug sits correctly without rubbing the shoulders, pulling tight at the chest or digging in at the neck.
With no filling, this is a lightweight waterproof rug for all year round use — reach for it on mild, wet days when your horse needs to stay dry but doesn't need any extra warmth. The 1200 denier ripstop outer and 5,000mm+ waterproof rating with added membrane provide reliable protection in all weathers, and the breathable antibacterial lining keeps your horse comfortable underneath.
To give your horse more coverage there is an option to add a detachable neck cover.

Hooray a rug that fits my ID! Plenty of shoulder room, fantastic depth to hide his tummy, a long tail guard to keep the rain out and back legs well covered. He is warm inside with 0g! For a horse who loves to roll the rug never slips. Should have bought one years ago! Love the colour purple!!

This is George our therapy horse, he’s shire cross. Bought a 7ft no fill rug as he does get warm & works outdoors all weathers. Brilliant fit and excellent quality. Will be purchasing more and would definately recommend
I’ve a Dales mare who I’ve had since a foal and now she’s matured I’ve struggled to get rugs that don’t rub her mane out or her shoulders and though this is yet to be used it looks to be a comfortable fit and very well made.
This rug is perfect for my boy it fits his plus size body shape so well, especially his big neck with him being entire. Its also fabulous that his long mane looks as it did when I put the rug on, even after 12 hours wear its knot and tangle free. Ive never had this with a rug before, wish I'd have bought sooner

Love these EPIC rugs for my boy (17.2 shire-cross); the broad fit accommodates his chest and bottom; longer should darts allow for great movement and no rubbing on his shoulder point; depth of rug comes down nicely past his belly and gives good protection and coverage. I recommend these rugs to my friends with big chested horses as an investment

Excellent quality for my Irish draught who needed a light rug after having an Irish clip
This rug fits my horse’s shoulders perfectly. I have tried a few rugs previously which have all needed a chest expander but this rug still overlaps perfectly with buckles to make adjustments. Did not need to size up either.

Second order from the Big Horse shop. As described, true fit, deep skirt, really well made. You do pay a little more than the standard 'off the shelf' smaller size rugs but in my opinion it is worth every penny. Will definitely order again.
